The University of Sierra Leone, which consists of the Institute of Public Administration and Management, Fourah Bay College, and the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, has been recognized as one of the leading universities in Africa. This recognition comes from Times Higher Education, which conducted a ranking to acknowledge excellence in higher education institutions across the continent.
Out of 88 institutions from over 20 countries, the University of Sierra Leone secured an impressive 23rd spot.
The top three universities in the rankings are the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, followed closely by the University of Johannesburg and Tanzania’s Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. It is worth noting that Nigeria has the highest number of institutions represented in the rankings, with over 37 institutions making the list.
