Life By Design (LBD) Start Up Bodyshop has announced a leadership transition, with founder and Executive Chairman Joe Abass Bangura handing over the company’s management to Raphael Marrah as its new Managing Director and Co-Founder.
In a handover letter dated 18 September, Bangura said he was confident in Marrah’s ability to lead the company’s next phase. He described the transition as an important step towards building an institution that can continue supporting entrepreneurs beyond its founder’s day-to-day leadership.
“Every founder dreams of building something bigger than themselves, a dream large enough that it no longer depends on the dreamer,” Bangura said.
Marrah thanked Bangura for his trust and said his focus would be on helping entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses while strengthening Sierra Leone’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“Taking on this responsibility is both an honour and a commitment,” Marrah said. “We are building on a strong foundation, and our ambition is to take Life By Design Start Up Bodyshop to the next level.”
Bangura encouraged Marrah to protect the company’s founding values while pursuing greater growth and impact. LBD said the transition would allow it to strengthen its operations and expand its support for entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone.
