Erick Kawa, a young and talented journalist, recently had the opportunity to tour the BBC headquarters in London. During his visit, he met with some of the amazing voices behind the mic, including the legendary Hassan Arouni.

Arouni, whose voice and eloquence have inspired many journalists across the globe, was super delighted to see Kawa and had to tell his colleagues about his work as a journalist. “He is such a talented young journalist, I have read his articles and Umaru has also recommended him,” said Arouni.

Kawa also had the pleasure of meeting Veronique Edwards, whose End Quiz Show has always been on his calendar. Kawa expressed his gratitude to Zawadi (BBC Africa TV) and Pierre (BBC Afrique) for coordinating the visit and providing him with an opportunity to meet such inspiring individuals.

Kawa’s tour of the BBC HQ did not end without stopping by the Francophone Sector (BBC Afrique), where he met with the great ‘équipe de service francophone.’ Kawa expressed his appreciation for the great hospitality provided during his visit.

Overall, Kawa’s tour of the BBC HQ was an amazing experience, providing him with the opportunity to meet with some of the most influential individuals in the industry. His encounter with Hassan Arouni and Veronique Edwards was not only humbling but also a testament to his hard work and dedication to his craft.

He is the founder of Africa’s Wakanda a platform that spotlight the beauty of Africa. Festus is also a perpetual volunteer in life-changing causes and has shown great commitment and dedication to being a catalyst and solution to the challenges faced by young people like himself. Festus currently serves as the Secretary General of the Africa Youth Leaders movement which is a network of youth between the ages of 20 – 30 years who have shown achievement, leadership potential and commitment to make a difference. Festus is also the Africa Focal Point of Youth for Change Initiative, which is a platform through which young people can access resources, be empowered and given the opportunity to grow to become useful members of society who will participate in the development of their communities and nation. Along with another Africa Youth platform, Festus has Co-Founded the Future of Africa initiative which is an advocate forum with the aim to bring together local and international socio-economic stakeholders to support innovative programs aimed at advancing the radical and practical progress of adoption awareness-vulnerable children and youth and youth leadership-through interlinking local, regional and international resources and opportunities.
