The Sierra Leone Football Association has sent a delegation to take part in an important international football programme aimed at improving the standard of the game in the country.
The delegation is attending a specialised training and development workshop organised under the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The programme focuses on key areas such as match organisation, planning, coordination, and reporting, which are all important for running professional football competitions.
According to reports, the training will also cover integrity and transparency in football, helping officials understand how to manage games fairly and professionally.
The move is part of ongoing efforts by the SLFA to strengthen football administration in Sierra Leone and align the country with international best practices. Football officials believe that improving match management and governance will help build trust in the game and raise the quality of local competitions.
The SLFA leadership has continued to push for reforms and capacity building since the election of its current president, Babadi Kamara, who has been working to improve partnerships, training, and overall football development across the country.
Football remains the most popular sport in Sierra Leone, and the SLFA is responsible for managing leagues, national teams, and development programmes.
Officials say this latest engagement is another step toward creating a more organised, competitive, and credible football system that can compete at both regional and international levels.
