Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio is scheduled to leave the country today to attend the Africa Climate Summit in Kenya. The summit, which will be held in Nairobi from 4-6 September, aims to address the growing impact of climate change and its associated costs, particularly in Africa.
President Bio will join over 30,000 delegates, including 23 other Heads of State, to discuss strategies for driving green growth and climate finance solutions for Africa and the world. During the summit, President Bio will present Sierra Leone’s plans for building a climate-resilient future and seek innovative solutions to address the country’s climate change challenges. The event will also lead to the development of the Nairobi Declaration on Climate Change.
