Young and beautiful Zainab Kargbo the only female carpenter in Sierra Leone has bagged a nomination for the top 30 most influential women in Western Rural Area.

Zainab Kargbo is a graduate with a sound degree from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM). Immediately after graduation, Zainab wrote over 100 job applications but non never reached out to her.
In the process, Zainab came across a video on Youtube on how to make tufted beds, there she started learning the skill. For Zainab, succeeding in men dominated industry is entirely difficult she will seldom undergo gender discrimination and numerous of stumble blocks. Zainab stood her ground until she finally succeeded and founded Zeekay Woodworks a woodwork company that trains and works with vulnerable girls who want to take carpentry as a profession.
Like few brave women that take such risks and zeal to embark on such a difficult job, Zainab took the path of carpentry – making tufted beds she has created employment and training ground for vulnerable girls.

The award is an annual event with the aim of recognizing change makers in the Western Area Rural. The list is a star stud and in equal measures a list of women who are the embodiment of narrative changing. Advocacy For Women and Youth Empowerment started a journey a few years in making sure they spotlight change makers in West Area Rural District. Advocacy Organization established by forward-looking young people in order to assist women
and youth across Sierra Leone in raising their voices for their rights and entitlements.

He is the founder of Africa’s Wakanda a platform that spotlight the beauty of Africa. Festus is also a perpetual volunteer in life-changing causes and has shown great commitment and dedication to being a catalyst and solution to the challenges faced by young people like himself. Festus currently serves as the Secretary General of the Africa Youth Leaders movement which is a network of youth between the ages of 20 – 30 years who have shown achievement, leadership potential and commitment to make a difference. Festus is also the Africa Focal Point of Youth for Change Initiative, which is a platform through which young people can access resources, be empowered and given the opportunity to grow to become useful members of society who will participate in the development of their communities and nation. Along with another Africa Youth platform, Festus has Co-Founded the Future of Africa initiative which is an advocate forum with the aim to bring together local and international socio-economic stakeholders to support innovative programs aimed at advancing the radical and practical progress of adoption awareness-vulnerable children and youth and youth leadership-through interlinking local, regional and international resources and opportunities.
