The 100 Most Reputable Africans list is an annual compilation of the continent’s most respected and admired individuals. The list represents a wide range of people from a variety of fields, such as politics, business, entertainment, and human rights advocacy.

Reputable Africans Awards

The list, compiled by Reputation Poll International (RPI), a leading reputation management and public relations consultancy firm, recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields and have built a strong reputation.

This year’s list features a diverse group of individuals from various sectors, including politics, business, entertainment, and human rights advocacy. Some of the notable names listed in the business category include Nigeria’s Femi Otedola; Sudanese-British billionaire businessman Mo Ibrahim and Zimbabwe’s Kenneth Sharpe. Mahmood Mamdani; Chancellor at Kampala International University; Tanzanian’s biodiversity leader Elizabeth Maruma Mrema Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); Liberia’s Former president Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

In addition to the individuals recognised on Reputation Poll International’s “100 Most Reputable Africans” list for their various achievements, there are also those who are celebrated for their contributions to social impact and social entrepreneurship, helping to transform businesses in Africa and positively impacting lives without causing controversy.

Beninese Singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo and Danai Jekesai Zimbabwean-American Actress were featured in the entertainment category.

Honorary Mention goes to Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament.

Rt. Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis is the Speaker of the 5th Legislature of the ECOWAS Parliament. A citizen and a Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Sierra leone, he is the immediate past Majority Leader in the Fifth Parliament of the second Republic of Sierra Leone and is a ranking member of the Sierra Leone delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament from 2018 to date.

According to Chapter IV, Article 24 (2) of the Supplementary Act Relating to the Enhancement of the Powers of the ECOWAS Parliament, the Speaker directs the business of the Parliament and its organs.

The efforts of the ECOWAS Parliament in seeking peaceful coexistence amid the political and diplomatic complexities involved in regional integration and community cohesion prompts this recognition. The role of community body of member-states in seeking peace amid series of crises including the overthrow of  governments accords the honorary mention of the ECOWAS Parliament Speaker, Dr. Sidie Tunis, as he represents a body of people in pursuit of greater hope for humanity.
