Popular Sierra Leonean rapper LAJ (Alhaji Amadu Bah) and media personality Prezo Koroma have been granted bail following weeks of court proceedings in Bo.
The two were earlier remanded at the Bo Correctional Centre after appearing before Magistrate Court No. 2 on allegations of cyberbullying and insulting conduct under the Cyber Security and Crime Act 2021.
According to court details, the charges relate to a video allegedly circulated on social media in March 2026, which prosecutors say was intended to insult and cause distress to a complainant, including remarks directed at the Mayor of Kenema.
The case had been adjourned several times, with reports during earlier hearings indicating that bail was initially denied and both men remained in custody pending further proceedings.
However, in the latest development, the court granted bail to both accused persons under conditions yet to be fully disclosed. Their release is expected to allow them to prepare for the continuation of the trial.
The matter has drawn wide public attention, especially among fans and followers of the entertainment industry in Sierra Leone, where LAJ is a well-known hip-hop artist.
The matter was not fully heard and has been adjourned to May 5, 2026, for continuation of proceedings as the court prepares to review further details.
The court also ordered both parties to refrain from making any public statements or social media posts regarding the case until proceedings are concluded.
