Meet Mrs. Rugiatu Neneh Abu Koroma founder of Amazonian Initiative Movement (AIM) an organization that works for the elimination of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and promotion of education for rural communities.
Rugiatu Neneh Abu Koroma is also the Chairperson for Forum Against Harmful Practices (FAHP) a coalition of 21 organizations all working for the Elimination of FGM. Her focus is to see a Sierra Leone free from FGM and to create a safe traditional space for women that can used not only to empower women but also to educate the rural women on the need to support women in leadership.
Rugiatu Neneh Abu Koroma has worked with soweis, religious leaders, chiefs and every member of the community to introduce the alternative rite of passage known as the bloodless rites as a way of upholding our bondo culture with respect.
Rugiatu Neneh Abu Koroma works with a committed team of women, men and youth in protecting women and girls from harmful practices such as FGM.
Rugiatu Neneh Abu Koroma is an FGM champion and her personality speaks volume of her commitment to serve. She is very dedicated in service and always willing to give a helping hand.
