The High Commission of India in Freetown has organised a consular camp and open house in Kenema, aimed at bringing essential services closer to members of the Indian community living in Sierra Leone.
The outreach event took place on 7 June 2026 and attracted members of the Indian diaspora from Kenema and nearby areas. Officials from the High Commission engaged directly with attendees, offering a range of consular and passport services.
During the session, community members were given the opportunity to raise concerns, share suggestions, and receive guidance on consular matters. Officials also provided information about key initiatives by the Government of India designed to support Indians living abroad.
The High Commission said the outreach is part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and maintain close engagement with the diaspora community across Sierra Leone.
Participants welcomed the initiative, noting that such outreach programmes reduce the need to travel to Freetown for consular services.
The High Commission reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the welfare of Indian nationals in Sierra Leone through regular engagement and improved access to services.
