Samuel Aboagye is a young inventor from Ghana who has built from scratch an electric scooter powered by solar energy. The young Ghanaian prodigy told news outlets that he made known that the scooter was made to help disabled people in Ghana. Samuel made it known in a video with BBC that the inspiration behind this is that he wanted to help disabled people, so that they can move easily with the scooter without needing their legs for control.

Only God knows what He intended while He was creating the continent of Africa, because of all the continents in the world, Africa is blessed beyond what human intelligence can comprehend. Should we talk about the beautiful landscapes of the countless works of nature in Africa?

What about the mineral resources that are in abundance and even to the people of the continent? Africa is blessed with many people full of beauties, energies, talents and great potentials.

To mention many of the great things Africans are doing, it will just be like wasting someone’s time, because how many of the talented people blessed with Africa can we count, when everyday, across different corners of the continent of Africa, new talents are born and/or discovered.

Even though it is very hard to mention them all, at least we can be mentioning these talented young African geniuses as long as we find out about them.

For example, that’s how a secondary school student from Ghana built an electric scooter powered by solar energy using wood.

This scooter was made up of different components, from its batteries, to the solar panels and even to the wooden body of the scooter.

There has been a significant rise in petroleum usage in my country. After learning about solar energy in a physics lesson, I was inspired to combine my knowledge and talents to create a machine that is powered by solar energy. Fortunately, energy from the sun is always available and free of charge.

The scooter is powered by solar panels and also has an alternative electricity charging. According to Samuel, the scooter can go up to 5 hours or 20 miles with a single charge.

After the successful invention of the scooter, Samuel advanced and also created an electric tricycle, but even with all these, it seems Samuel has not done anything yet. Because the young inventor has made It clear that his next focus is to build an electric car!

Samuel is a very shy boy in class, in fact he hardly answer questions in class due to his quietness but this didn’t stop the talented genius to execute his talent. Samuel told thevintage news how he learnt to build things from scratch.

My science teacher, Mr. Sam Hagan recognized that I had a talent even though I am very quiet in class. He gave us science sets from Dext Technologies and then asked us to create something. I gained so much practical knowledge when I started using the science set. He has been so inspirational to me in terms of encouragement, guidance and making funds available for my projects.

When asked in an interview where did he get the materials to build his scooter, Samuel said, “I got some of the materials from picking apart old gadgets I found and my teacher also gave me some supplies.”

Should we hope he becomes the African Elon Musk in the future? Because from building an electric scooter to building an electric tricycle, I’m sure building an electric car will not be so hard for the young Samuel to achieve.

That’s exactly what makes him a genius!
