Sierra Leone’s Education Minister, Conrad Sackey has announced the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results on Friday, October 27, 2023. The BECE is taken by third-year Junior High School students and serves dual purposes: determining eligibility for senior secondary education and certifying junior secondary education completion.
Candidates can access their scores online or via the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) SMS result checker 1. To check the results online, candidates need to follow these steps:
- Login to the WAEC Result Checker Website – 1.
- Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. (This is your 7-Digit center number followed by your 3-digit candidate number, e.g. 4123456789).
- Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year, e.g., 2023.
- Select the Type of Examination, e.g., May/June.
- Enter the Scratch Card (E-pin) Number.
- Click Submit and wait for the results window to open.
Alternatively, candidates can check their results via SMS by texting RESULT to 468 and selecting option 2 for BECE
