Giving Tuesday Sierra Leone, in partnership with We Yone Child Foundation, Brighter Future Organization, and Grow Sierra Leone provides books and book shelves to twelve schools in Kamakwie, Karene District as part of their commitment to strengthen education in the region
The books were donated by Book Aid International, Books for Africa and Sierra Leone Book Trust. Whereas the Library book shelves were donated by Wegdam Foundation based in the Netherlands.
Speaking to Salone Messenger, Alimamy Kamara, Head Teacher of the KDC Primary School said he is very pleased with the books and book shelves donation to his school.
He continued by saying “The books came at the right time, and our kids had been longing for them for a long time”.
Mariatu M.S. Bangura, a pupil of the Karene District Education Council School said she is extremely happy to receive the donation from Giving Tuesday Sierra.
In her words: “I am very happy to receive these books. I promise I am going to read them and make good use of them.”

Recall that Giving Tuesday Sierra Leone gave free diabetes and high blood pressure tests to hundreds of residents in Kamakwie during their four-day visit to the district headquarter town of Karene District.
