Due to the nationwide curfew imposed by the government of Sierra Leone, the ferry service between Freetown and Lungi has been adjusted.

The last ferry crossing for passengers departing Sierra Leone will be at 7.30pm on 26 November 20231. Passengers arriving in Sierra Leone close to the curfew times should find overnight accommodation in Lungi1.

The ferry service is one of the few options for travel between Freetown and Lungi, which are separated by a narrow strait. Other options include road, water taxi and local boats or pirogues23.

However, these modes of transport may be subject to disruption due to security issues or road conditions. The government has advised travellers to avoid political gatherings or demonstrations, and to comply with any restrictions that are put in place
