Hip Hop Rapper, Alhaji Amadu Bah, popularly known as Boss La, visited the Information and Civic Education Minister, Chernor Bah, at his office today to deliver a thank you note. The rapper expressed his gratitude to the Minister for his unwavering support during his incarceration and release.
In response, Minister Bah tweeted, “He came by to hand deliver a #ThankYou note and to pledge his continued unwavering support to the #salonebigpasswiall campaign. He’s ready to do anything to lift #SaloneAboveAllElse. Let’s keep on brother. @king_boss_la” .
Boss La was released from prison after receiving a presidential pardon on Monday, January 1st, 2024. His long-awaited release came as a result of a Presidential pardon, a prerogative of mercy granted to him by His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio. Many Sierra Leoneans, including the entertainment industry, have been pleading for his release since he was arrested in June 2022. Boss La was serving a nine-year jail term after being found guilty of assault and robbery by High Court Judge, Justice Adrian Fisher and was sentenced on the 17th of March 2023. Since his detention, various entertainers, friends, and family members have fervently appealed to the government for his pardon and release .
