The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has invited the leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) to a formal engagement meeting as part of preparations toward the 2028 general elections.

According to the notice, the invitation was sent by the Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairman of ECSL, Edmond Sylvester Alpha, who said the meeting is part of a series of consultations with registered political parties. The discussions are expected to focus on the Commission’s plans, ongoing activities, and the roadmap leading to the next national elections.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the ECSL headquarters in Freetown between late March and early April 2026. The Commission said the engagement aims to strengthen dialogue with political stakeholders and build confidence in the electoral process.

In his message, the Chief Electoral Commissioner assured that the Commission remains committed to fairness, transparency, and professionalism in managing elections in Sierra Leone. He noted that regular consultations with political parties are important to ensure trust in the country’s democratic system.

ECSL explained that the planned meetings will allow political parties to receive updates on electoral reforms, share concerns, and discuss ways to improve the conduct of future elections, including the 2028 polls.

The Commission said it will continue to engage all registered political parties as part of its effort to promote inclusive participation and strengthen the credibility of elections in Sierra Leone.
