The US emphasized that compromise is a shared responsibility of both the government and opposition, and called on all stakeholders to agree to an inclusive process for reforming democratic and electoral laws. They also urged all elected leaders to take their seats in parliament and local government bodies, highlighting the importance of a robust and constructive political opposition.
The US Embassy concluded by expressing their commitment to supporting the dialogue process and working in partnership with Sierra Leone’s political leaders to advance the country’s democracy.
