Women’s Forum Sierra Leone has officially launched its website as part of efforts to strengthen its advocacy work and improve public access to information about the organisation’s activities and programmes.
The new platform, Women’s Forum Sierra Leone, highlights the organisation’s mission, history, programmes, leadership and objectives aimed at empowering women and girls across Sierra Leone.
Founded in February 1994, Women’s Forum Sierra Leone is a non-governmental feminist organisation focused on promoting gender equality, advancing the status of women and supporting the empowerment of girls and young women. According to information published on the website, the organisation currently has about 300 registered women’s groups at regional, district and chiefdom levels.
The launch of the website comes under the leadership of Sally N. Adams, the current President of the organisation, who continues to lead advocacy and empowerment programmes for women and girls across the country.
The website outlines the Forum’s vision of building a Sierra Leone where women and girls, regardless of tribe, religion, culture or social status, can access opportunities and live in a peaceful environment free from violence. It also promotes the organisation’s Agenda 2044, which focuses on the political, economic and social empowerment of women and girls.
The online platform further provides information about the organisation’s collaboration with the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs and its advocacy role in supporting gender equality initiatives in Sierra Leone. The Forum states that it has worked closely with government and development partners to promote women’s participation in leadership and decision-making.
Visitors to the website can access details about the organisation’s values, aims and objectives, leadership structure and contact information. The site also features photographs and updates showcasing the Forum’s engagement with women’s groups and communities across Sierra Leone.
The launch of the website is expected to improve the organisation’s digital presence and create easier access for partners, donors, women’s groups and members of the public seeking information about the Forum’s work in Sierra Leone.
