The Hill Station Sports Promoters is a vibrant community-based sports and entertainment organization that has, over the years, made remarkable contributions to the growth of sports and youth development within the community. Through the organization of football galas, leagues, entertainment shows, and other social activities, the group has remained consistent in promoting unity, talent development, and positive social engagement.
At a time when Kush, a dangerous and life-threatening drug, continues to ravage communities across Sierra Leone—especially among the youth—the Hill Station Sports Promoters have joined forces with other community stakeholders to confront this growing menace. In response, the organization launched a historic football competition titled “Kick Out Drug Abuse”, aimed at raising awareness and discouraging the use of drugs among young people.
The laudable initiative is proudly sponsored by Dr. Richard Conteh, an aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC) flag bearer in 2028. The official opening ceremony took place on Saturday, 6th December 2025, and featured strong advocacy messages centered on youth empowerment and the dangers of drug abuse, particularly Kush. Speakers passionately admonished both players and spectators to completely abstain from drug use and to embrace positive lifestyles.
The competition has brought together sixteen teams from various communities, creating not only an avenue for sporting excellence but also a platform for social education and behavioral change.
Two young and dedicated community activists, Ajaey and Ballotelli, represented the organization and worked tirelessly with team managers and representatives to ensure strict adherence to the rules of the game. Their efforts were directed toward maintaining discipline, preventing violence, and upholding the noble theme of the competition.
This initiative is not a one-time effort. The Hill Station Sports Promoters have built a strong tradition of organizing impactful sporting activities that continue to positively shape the lives of young people within the community and beyond.
The league is currently ongoing at the Old School Playing Field, Hill Station, and the organization warmly extends an open invitation to all football lovers, youth advocates, and community members who support development to come out and be part of this meaningful cause.
