Bo, August 22, 2024 – The Sierra Leone Police successfully apprehended six individuals suspected of being involved in a series of armed robberies in Bo on the evening of Thursday, August 22, 2024. Among the arrested, three suspects were reportedly from Rutile, while the others were residents of Bo.

The Southern Regional Police Commander, AIG Brima Kanneh, reported that the suspects were detained at the Africa Guest House located in the Njagboima Section of Bo city. During the arrest, the police discovered a fully loaded AK47 rifle, bearing the serial number SL/SLP 16 4902706-2778, along with various other dangerous ammunition.

This operation follows a recent surge in armed robberies across Bo and its neighboring areas. The urgency of the situation was underscored by a tragic incident that occurred just a week earlier on August 15, 2024, when a mechanic was shot and killed by suspected armed robbers in the Torgboi Town section of Bo city. This incident led the police to intensify their efforts to curb criminal activities in the area.

The police operation reflects their commitment to restoring safety and security in Bo, and investigations are ongoing to ensure that those involved in these criminal activities are brought to justice.
