The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr..Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, has shared exciting news about a key meeting held with Qatari partners aimed at improving sports and building stronger economic ties.
Dr . Abdulai joined the Minister of Sports, Mrs. Augusta James Teima, along with Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Qatar, Fadlu Deen, and Ambassador Walid Shamsu Deen for the important discussion with Qatar funds. The meeting began on a positive note, with the Minister showing strong diplomatic leadership and the host Ambassador giving a warm welcome.
During the meeting, Dr. Abdulai gave a 12-minute PowerPoint presentation focusing on ways to improve Sierra Leone’s sports facilities and explore smart development options. The goal was to shift from relying on aid and charity to creating strong, lasting economic partnerships.
The meeting sparked a lot of meaningful discussion, and the team was able to agree on clear action points that could bring real change to the sports sector and beyond.
“We are working together to build a better future for sports and trade in Sierra Leone,” said Mr. Abdulai. “This is the kind of partnership that creates real progress.”
The talks are part of Sierra Leone’s ongoing effort to use sports as a tool for national development and youth empowerment, while attracting international support and investment.
