Ramadan KD Barry Awarded Best Actor Of The Year  At The National Film Awards

Young Sierra Leonean actor , Ramadan KD Barry  has been awarded Best Actor Of The Year at the first ever National Film Awards organized by the National Film Awards at the Africa Young Voices Media Empire auditorium.

Kerry David Barry with the screen name Ram-dee was Born at the government hospital in the Makeni Municipality – the headquarter of the northern province of Sierra Leone. He is the second child to Mohamed Alieu Barry and Aminata Barry, a driver and businesswoman respectively. His elder brother is Joseph Barry, and his young brother is called Ibrahim Ryan Barry. To this day, the screen sensation I s still single without a child.

He attended the Aladurah Primary School – Kono in his class 1, U.M.C Boys School- Kono in his class 2, Eastern Day Primary School -Freetown in his class 3, Chambers Primary School – Freetown in his class 4, and completed his primary level education at the St Edwards Primary School in his classes 5 & 6. He proceeded to West African Methodist (W.A.M) Collegiate Secondary School and International Senior Secondary School where he sat his West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination successfully. He later furthered his studies at the College of Traveling and Tourism where he acquired a Diploma in International Air Transport and Aviation (IATA).

CAREER

Kerry David Barrie aka Ramadan is the most popular Sierra Leone actor and has just become the first-ever ImageSALONE brand ambassador. The story of Ramadan’s acting career started when he was spotted by a young talented Sierra Leonean director nicknamed Zagalo, who was the director of his school drama group. Zagalo offered Ramadan the opportunity to act as a lead character during his school entertainment program and where he did extremely well and became popular after that. He then saw acting as his unique skill and decided to pursue it. Years later, he signed a contract with the first film production house – Universal Image, in the Western part of Freetown where Director Zagalo happened to be the lead director.

In 2010 Ram Dee finally came to the limelight when he did Breaking the Rules, a movie that sold out hugely across the country and happened to be the first Sierra Leonean movie to break the market. To this day, it is referred to as the movie that opened the gate to the Sierra Leone movie industry after the war Jimmy B’s Refugee home movie, after the eleven years Sierra Leone Civil War. He won himself the best actor of the year award in 2018 – organized by the First National Entertainment Awards (NEA). He has also been featured in some top music videos like ‘’God nor dea Bang phone’‘, done by Succulent; and has also done advertisements for the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank. In addition to his portfolio, he remarkable founded his own renowned movie production house – Good Luck Films (GLF) and has produced movies like End Tale, Double Cross, Kainday & Taiwo, Ties, etc.
