President Julius Maada Bio today officially presided over the oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Ahmed Saybom Kanu, at State House.
The ceremony marks the official commencement of Kanu’s duties in a sector vital to Sierra Leone’s economic growth and food security.
Following the swearing-in, President Bio shared his congratulations publicly, expressing his commitment to collaborating with the new deputy minister.
“I look forward to supporting you as you undertake your new responsibilities. Congratulations!” President Bio stated.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources remains a cornerstone of the government’s national development agenda, tasked with managing the country’s rich marine ecosystems, combating illegal fishing, and boosting local sustainable industries. Kanu’s transition into the role is expected to bring renewed energy to these ongoing initiatives.
