Empowering Inmates through Talent, Craft, and Skills Development
Reclaiming the Future, a leading organization committed to empowering inmates through rehabilitation and integration programs, is set to host its 2024 Annual Talent and Craft Competition. This initiative seeks to provide inmates with a platform to showcase their talents, develop practical skills, and foster personal growth, all while addressing critical needs such as mental health, economic empowerment, and hygiene for female inmates. The event is slated to begin in November 2024 at the correctional center in Port Loko.
In addition to the creative competition, this year’s event will launch the Prison Pad Bank to ensure that female inmates have a consistent supply of essential sanitary products. The initiative aligns with both the Government of Sierra Leone’s policy on radical inclusion and the First Lady’s advocacy for sexual and reproductive health rights.
