The new Team Manager of Sierra Leone’s national football team, Abdul Karim Bangura, has described his appointment as a great honour and a chance to serve the country.
The event took place at the Leone Stars training pitch, where Bangura addressed the players and technical staff for the first time. He said his role is to make their work easier and to give full support to the team.
“Anything that happens is by the will of God,” he told them. “It is a great honour to be appointed as team manager for Leone Stars. My appointment is to come and serve you, to make the job easier – that is my role.”
Bangura stressed that his duty goes beyond football. “This is about representing our country, our people, our culture, and the values we stand for on and off the pitch,” he said.
He assured the players and coaches that he would work hand-in-hand with Leone Stars President Babadi Kamara and the entire technical staff. “We want to make sure you have the support needed so you can focus on preparing these gentlemen to perform at their best,” he added.
His first meeting with the squad comes as the team continues preparations for upcoming international matches.
