TikTok is a short-form video hosting service owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. It hosts a variety of short-form user videos, from genres like pranks, stunts, tricks, jokes, dance, and entertainment with durations from 15 seconds to ten minutes.

TikTok have over 750 million monthly users worldwide in 2022, according to Insider Intelligence’s forecast. It is now the third-largest of the Big Five worldwide social networks (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Twitter).

Morning Consult ranked TikTok as the third fastest-growing brand of 2020, after only Zoom and Peacock. Cloudflare ranked TikTok as the most popular website of 2021, surpassing Google.

Lame was born in Senegal on 9 March 2000. His family moved to a public housing complex in Chivasso, Italy, when he was one year old. He has three siblings. He studied in Italian schools until he was fourteen when his parents decided to send him to study temporarily in a Quranic school near Dakar. Lame worked as a CNC machine operator at a factory near Turin, before getting laid off in March 2020. After he was laid off during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lame began posting on TikTok. His early videos showed him dancing and watching video games. He rose to popularity with his video responses in the form of TikTok’s “duet” and “stitch” features to videos depicting complicated “life hacks”, in which he performs the same task in a simple way, without saying anything, followed by a trademark hand gesture. He presently tops the list as the most followed TikToker in the world.

Charli Grace D’Amelio born May 1, 2004, is an American social media personality. She was a competitive dancer for over 10 years before starting her social media career in 2019, when she started actively posting content on the video-sharing platform TikTok, where she began posting dance videos which started trending on the platform. She quickly amassed a large following and subsequently became the most-followed creator on the platform in March 2020 until she was surpassed by Khaby Lame in July 2022.

D’Amelio made her feature film debut with a voice role in the 2020 animated film StarDog and TurboCat. Since 2021, she has starred in the Hulu docuseries, The D’Amelio Show and the Snap Original    reality show Charli vs. Dixie. In 2022, D’Amelio participated as a celebrity contestant, alongside Mark Ballas, in the thirty-first season of the dance competition series, Dancing with the Stars.

Her other endeavours include two books, a podcast, a nail polish collection, a mattress, a makeup line, a clothing line, and a multi-product company. She is the first person to earn both 50 million and 100 million followers on TikTok. D’Amelio was the highest-earning TikTok female personality in 2019 and the highest-earning personality on the app in 2022, according to Forbes. She is often described as TikTok’s biggest star.

Bella Poarch was born February 9, 1997, is a Filipino-American singer and social media personality. On August 17, 2020, she created the most liked video on TikTok, in which she lip syncs to the song “M to the B” by British rapper Millie B. She is the most followed TikTok contributor in the Philippines. In May 2021, she released her debut single “Build a Bitch”.

As of July 24, 2022, she has over 90.8 million followers on TikTok, ranking as the third most-followed individual on the platform behind Khaby Lame and Charli D’Amelio. She signed a music record deal with Warner Records in 2021.

Addison Rae Easterling (born October 6, 2000, is an American social media personality and actress. In August 2020, she was ranked as the highest-earning TikTok personality by Forbes. In 2021, Addison Rae made the Forbes “30 Under 30” list for social media influencers.

In 2019, Rae started actively posting content on TikTok, where her dancing videos rose in popularity; as of July 31, 2022, she has amassed over 88 million followers on TikTok, making her the fourth most-followed individual on the platform. In 2021, she released her debut single “Obsessed” and made her acting debut in the Netflix original film He’s All That, a gender-swapped remake of the 1999 film She’s All That.

Zachary King (born February 4, 1990) is an American internet personality based in Los Angeles. He is most known for his “magic vines,” which are six-second videos digitally edited to look as if he is doing magic. He calls his videos “digital sleight of hand. He began posting videos on YouTube in 2008 and in 2013 he started posting videos to Vine. King posted his first video to TikTok in 2016, and has since attracted over 68.2 million followers, making him the sixth most-followed individual on the platform. King won the Hewlett-Packard commercial contest in 2010, and got a trip to the red carpet at the London Film Festival. In 2013, he won YouTube‘s NextUp Creators contest. In 2015, King and his wife Rachel Holm competed in the 28th season of the American reality game show The Amazing Race. They were eliminated during the ninth leg of the race being placed sixth in the overall standings.

Kimberly Guadalupe Loaiza Martinez (born 12 December 1997), known artistically as Kimberly Loaiza, is a Mexican singer and internet personality. In 2016, she began her YouTube career and she is currently the 7th most-followed user on TikTok.

Kimberly Loaiza’s created her Twitter account when she was fourteen years old. Five years later, in 2016, she started vlogging on YouTube with her first video on November 15, 2016. Loaiza traveled to Colombia for rhinoplasty surgery. Loaiza initially made makeup videos, hair tutorials, and trivia for girls; however, over the years her content changed to make more vlogs, challenges and tags with her friends. In 2019, Loaiza began a career in music and released her first single, Enamorarme; later, other singles included “More, Tequila and shot, Turn off the light, Our Agreement, Don’t be jealous”, among others.
