Lame was born in Senegal on 9 March 2000 and raised in a public housing complex in Chivasso, Italy, since the age of one, where he still lives, to a devout Muslim family.  He practiced athletics such as football and basketball; in high school, he played in the junior-level basketball championships.
Before TikTok, Lame worked as a CNC machine operator.He also experienced financial issues, which he overcame via his TikTok videos.
Lame began posting on TikTok in March 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdowns.[11] In December 2020, he modeled for the magazine DLuiRepubblica. On 26 April 2021, he overtook Gianluca Vacchi as the most-followed Italian TikToker.  Lame currently has over 98.1 million followers on TikTok, making him the second most-followed TikToker worldwide. He also has over 32.1 million followers on Instagram after having beaten Chiara Ferragni as most followed Italian on the platform.
