Chernor Bah (Cee-Bah), Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, has successfully completed the prestigious Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellowship 2024. The transformative journey began six months ago in Cape Town, South Africa, and concluded after ten days of intensive reflection and learning at the University of Oxford and various venues across London.
The Fellowship provided Bah and his cohort of 24 remarkable leaders—including an Emmy-winning filmmaker, a Harvard-educated scientist, and a world-class artist—with opportunities for intellectual growth, personal reflection, and professional development. Participants engaged in activities ranging from thought-provoking discussions and team challenges to personal essays and stimulating talks.
Bah expressed immense gratitude to President Julius Maada Bio for his continuous support throughout this journey, which not only recharged his energy but also gave him a renewed sense of purpose. He also thanked his family, especially his wife Aissatou Mila, for their support during the program.
Reflecting on the experience, Bah noted, “I am ready to live the dream by doing what I have been tasked to do – as best as I can.” He embraced the opportunity to rediscover himself and pledged to apply the skills and insights gained from the Fellowship to his work in public service.
The Fellowship’s final awards ceremony, held at the Africa Center in London, marked a significant milestone in Bah’s leadership journey as he prepares to continue contributing to Sierra Leone’s development with renewed passion and commitment.
