A 15-year-old Nigerian kid, Victor Olatunji had defeated 10,000 other contestants to emerge as Africa’s Mathematics Champion
The Cruxlearning Mathematics Contest Africa (CLMCA) is a pan-African competition where over 10,000 SS2 students from 24 African countries registered for the annual contest through the online platform where qualifying exams was conducted.
Victor Olatunji is a student of The International School Ibadan, Oyo State, West Africa. For the feat, he earned $5,000 (over N2m) worth of university scholarship from the just-concluded Cruxlearning Mathematics Contest Africa.
Victor Olatunji tops 10,000 contestants, 18 participants were shortlisted for the second stage of the reality TV Quiz Show designed , identify and reward outstanding students for their brilliance in the subject and social skills.
Scholarship Region reports that after four weeks in the Mathslounge, an area designed to host the contest, the contestants were shortlisted to remain six who then went ahead for the final encounter with the Dean to determine Africa’s Math Champion.
Victor Adetunji (known as Root) of The International School Ibadan finally emerged the best and got $5,000 worth of university scholarship, he was followed by Femi Ositade (known as Alpha) of The Ambassadors College, Ota who came second and won $2,500.
