Sierra Leonean multilingual journalist Eric Kawa has joined journalists and media professionals from six African countries for the official launch of the Francophone Alliance of Media and Journalists Against Malaria in Africa (AFRIMPA).
The launch took place in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. It brought together media professionals from the Republic of Congo, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon and Sierra Leone.
AFRIMPA aims to bring journalists and media organisations together to support public education and reporting on malaria across Africa.
The initiative is supported by the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, Impact Santé Afrique, the World Health Organization and other partners.
Kawa represented Sierra Leone at the event alongside journalists and media professionals from the other participating countries.
