The Government of Sierra Leone has announced plans to partner with a Turkish development agency to construct a modern hospital aimed at improving healthcare services across the country.
The proposed facility is expected to strengthen the country’s health sector with advanced medical equipment, improved patient care services, and modern infrastructure. Officials say the project forms part of ongoing efforts by the government to improve access to quality healthcare for citizens.
Authorities noted that the hospital will help reduce pressure on existing medical facilities while providing specialized treatment services that are currently limited in many parts of Sierra Leone. The project is also expected to create opportunities for medical training and boost healthcare delivery nationwide.
Government representatives praised the growing cooperation between Sierra Leone and Türkiye, describing the partnership as an important step toward strengthening the country’s health system and supporting national development goals.
The announcement comes at a time when the government has been increasing investments in the health sector, including the commissioning of new CT scan facilities, burns units, and maternal healthcare centres in different parts of the country
