The Ambassador of the European Union to Sierra Leone, Jacek Jankowski, has held talks with the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) on key national issues, including the party’s return to governance processes and ongoing political reforms.

In a statement shared after the meeting, Ambassador Jankowski said discussions focused on both sides honouring their renewed understanding, including the implementation of the Agreement on National Unity and the progress of recommendations from the Tripartite Committee.

He expressed appreciation for what he described as a shared commitment to democratic principles, highlighting the importance of dialogue and cooperation in strengthening Sierra Leone’s political stability.

The engagement comes amid continued efforts by stakeholders to promote inclusive governance and address concerns raised following the country’s last electoral cycle.

The Tripartite Committee, which was established to review electoral and governance issues, has been central to ongoing reforms aimed at building trust among political actors and improving democratic processes.

Observers say such engagements between international partners and political parties remain important in supporting transparency, accountability and long-term peace in Sierra Leone.
