Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Vice President II of the Old Prince Waleans Association (OPWA), Alhaji Dauda Musa Bangura, has made a significant contribution of ten thousand New Leones (NLe 10,000) to support the Prince of Wales community, benefiting both the Scout (6th Freetown Troop) and the Class of 2026.

The donation, made on Tuesday, 14th April 2026, saw five thousand New Leones (NLe 5,000) allocated to the Prince of Wales Scout to support their ongoing camping activities, while the remaining five thousand New Leones (NLe 5,000) was presented to the Class of 2026 as a form of encouragement and support.

Speaking during the presentation, Alhaji Dauda Musa Bangura described the gesture as part of his commitment to giving back to the institution and empowering young Prince Waleans.

“This support is meant to strengthen both the scouting body and the Class of 2026. I believe in investing in young people and encouraging them to strive for excellence,” he stated.

The Scout Unit Leader and members of the troop expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation, noting that it will greatly enhance their camping programme and overall activities. They described the support as timely and impactful, calling on other old students to emulate such a meaningful gesture.

Similarly, the Coordinator for the Class of 2026 expressed gratitude on behalf of his colleagues, stating that the donation will serve as motivation for them to remain focused on their academic journey and uphold the values of the institution.

“We are very grateful for this support. It will go a long way in encouraging us as we continue our studies,” he said.

The dual donation has been widely praised as a strong demonstration of leadership, unity, and commitment to youth development within the Prince of Wales community, reinforcing the importance of continuous support from alumni towards the growth of both academic and extracurricular activities.
