India’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, B.C. Pradhan, has officially handed over 15 hemodialysis machines to the country’s Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Austin Demby.

The donation, made by the Government of India, is aimed at strengthening Sierra Leone’s healthcare system and improving access to life-saving treatment for patients with kidney-related conditions.

Health officials say the machines will help expand dialysis services across the country, offering critical support to patients who require regular treatment.

The gesture highlights the growing cooperation between India and Sierra Leone, particularly in the health sector. It also reflects ongoing efforts by both countries to improve medical services and build stronger health systems.

Authorities have welcomed the support, noting that such partnerships play an important role in addressing key healthcare challenges and saving lives.
