Foreign Minister Kabba Represents Bio at CELAC–Africa Forum

Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Musa Timothy Kabba, has arrived in Bogotá, Colombia, to represent President Julius Maada Bio at the CELAC–Africa High-Level Forum.

According to the minister, he travelled on behalf of President Bio, who is serving as Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government. The meeting brings together leaders and senior officials from Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean to discuss stronger cooperation between the regions.

The forum, organised by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and African partners, aims to improve relations between countries of the Global South. Talks are focused on development, trade, diplomacy, and cooperation outside the traditional North–South system.

Minister Kabba said the forum marks an important step in strengthening partnerships between Africa and countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. He added that the initiative supports the shared goal of promoting equality, mutual development, and cooperation among developing nations.

The CELAC–Africa High-Level Forum is expected to explore new opportunities for collaboration in areas such as economic growth, education, technology, and international diplomacy. Sierra Leone’s participation reflects the country’s role within ECOWAS and its commitment to global cooperation.
