Zainab Sheriff has accused the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) of trying to bully the All Peoples Congress (APC) after the Commission imposed fines on party officials following remarks made at the APC Mammoth Meeting held at the Atouga Mini Stadium in Freetown.
Speaking in an interview on Liberty TV, Zainab Sheriff said the PPRC’s action was not about enforcing the law but about intimidating the APC. Her comments came after the Commission announced fines against her and the APC National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq.
According to the PPRC, Lansana Dumbuya was fined Two Hundred Thousand Leones (NLe 200,000), while Zainab Sheriff was fined One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Leones (NLe 150,000). The fines were issued for violations of Sections 39(1)(c) and 39(1)(d) of the Political Parties Act, 2022. The Commission said statements made by the two officials during the meeting were profane, obscene, provocative, and capable of inciting the public.

The PPRC also disclosed that it had earlier warned the APC in a letter dated 11 November 2025 about possible breaches of the law ahead of the meeting. The party has been given seven days to pay the fines or face further
