Russian language classes have started at Freetown Secondary School for Girls (FSSG) in Sierra Leone, introducing students to the language and culture through a programme designed for beginners.

The course has been organised for two groups of students. Lessons will cover basic Russian grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, while helping learners develop their speaking skills.

According to the programme announcement, students will build their knowledge gradually, giving them a foundation for further language study.

The announcement described the launch as another step in educational cooperation between Russia and Sierra Leone. It said the classes would give students additional learning opportunities and introduce them to Russian culture.

The programme also aims to equip learners with language skills they could use in future studies and international communication.

The announcement noted that Russian language teaching is expanding across educational institutions in Sierra Leone, with new groups allowing more students to learn the language at their schools.
