The Environment Protection Agency Sierra Leone has congratulated Shiekh Ahmed Tunis following his confirmation as Executive Director of the National Protected Areas Authority (NPAA).

In a statement, the EPA said Tunis, who previously served as its Director of Research, Policy and Innovation, was accompanied by agency officials to formally convey their support and best wishes as he assumes the new role.

The agency described the transition as a continuation of work within the same environmental space, noting that Tunis’ experience and background would be valuable to national conservation efforts.

EPA said it looks forward to expanding its existing partnership with the NPAA, especially in the implementation of shared mandates aimed at protecting biodiversity and ensuring environmental sustainability.

Officials added that closer collaboration between the two institutions will support efforts to build an environmentally secure Sierra Leone through coordinated policy, research and conservation initiatives.
