Shock at Mr. Pujehun Contest as Contestant Loses Sight on Stage

A tense and unsettling moment marked the just-concluded 2025 Mr. Pujehun District contest when one of the contestants, popularly known as Petit Ranking, suddenly lost his eyesight while on stage.

The incident happened during his third appearance before the judges and audience. Eyewitness accounts describe how, as Petit Ranking was standing under the bright lights, he seemed to be confused and troubled. His attempts to open his eyes only lasted for a split second before it was clear that he was blinded. The fear that spread among the audience soon was realized by the authorities and the other contestants that something was amiss. Despite the shock, the competition continued after Petit Ranking was helped off the stage.

He was still unable to see throughout the entire event, which left many people in the audience very worried about his wellbeing. According to his family and fans, the incident was frightening since he appeared to be in very good health before the performance. The next day, Petit Ranking was taken to Bo for further treatment; he received traditional treatment there. According to sources close to him, he regained his sight; by the second day after participating in the contest, he had regained normal sight.

News of his recovery brought relief across the district of Pujehun, where the incident had sparked widespread concern and speculation. Many have since expressed gratitude that the situation did not result in permanent harm, while also calling for better medical preparedness at large public events. The ordeal of Petit Ranking has remained amongst the most talked-about moments, if not the only one, in the history of the Mr. Pujehun District contest-a reminder of how quickly celebration can get into the way of fear, and how fragile health can be, even in moments of pride and achievement.
