Women’s Forum Sierra Leone has announced a new partnership with the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre to support the national campaign against cyber-harassment targeting women and girls.
The partnership is part of the Stop Cyber-Harassment programme, which is supported by The World Bank. According to the Women’s Forum, cases of online abuse have continued to rise across Sierra Leone, with women and girls most affected.
Through this collaboration, Women’s Forum Sierra Leone will help raise public awareness, encourage victims to report harassment, and support communities with information on safe online behaviour. The organisation is also promoting the national hotline 900, a toll-free number that provides fast assistance for victims of cyber-abuse.
In a statement, the Women’s Forum said it is committed to ensuring women’s voices, safety and digital rights remain a national priority.
“We want to create online spaces where women can participate freely and with confidence,” the organisation stated.
The Stop Cyber-Harassment programme forms part of a wider national cybersecurity effort to protect citizens and promote responsible digital use across the country.
Women’s Forum Sierra Leone says it will continue to work with partners to build a safer and more inclusive digital environment for all.
