Minister of Finance Sheku Bangura to Deliver FY2026 Budget Statement Before Parliament

The Government of Sierra Leone has announced that the country’s FY2026 National Budget and the accompanying Statement of Economic and Financial Policies will be presented to Parliament on Friday, 28 November 2025. The event is scheduled for 10:00 in the morning inside the Chamber of Parliament.

According to the public notice issued by the Ministry of Finance, working jointly with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the presentation will be led by the Minister of Finance, Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura. The announcement is one of the most important events on the national calendar, as the budget outlines the government’s spending priorities, revenue plans, and policy direction for the ensuing year.

Further, the notice confirms that a wide range of stakeholders have been invited to attend.These include cabinet ministers and their deputies, vote controllers, heads of government departments, agencies, and state-owned enterprises. Representatives of development partners, the diplomatic and consular corps, civil society organisations, district budget oversight committees, and various community groups are also expected to be present. Members of the general public have been encouraged to attend as well.

Guests have been advised to take their seats by 9:30 a.m. to ensure the smooth running of the proceedings.

With economic reforms, revenue challenges, and continued efforts to strengthen public service delivery shaping national conversations, the interest in this year’s budget presentation is expected to be all time high.The Ministry of Finance has asked for the cooperation of all attendees and stakeholders as preparations continue.
