The 8-track EP features some of Africa’s finest talents, including Boy Pee of Ogechi fame, Nigerian producer Ramoni, and the legendary Masterkraft, who produced most of the songs. The project blends different sounds and emotions, showing Boii’s growth and creativity as an artist.
At the listening party on Tuesday night, Boii described the EP as a very personal project.
“I have dedicated my heart and soul to this EP,” she said. “I hope and pray that the DJs and bloggers here today will like the songs, because you are the ones who help us promote our music.”
She also revealed that the songs were recorded in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and one track during her trip to Morocco. The EP ends with an emotional outro dedicated to thanking God for everything.
Cribs International CEO, Sho Cole, expressed his excitement about the long-awaited project. He said the EP has been in development for a long time and praised Masterkraft’s contribution, calling him “a brother.” He also highlighted the important role of Sierra Leonean producers who worked on the project.
Show Cole further mentioned Boii’s mother as her biggest supporter.
“We are happy that Boii’s mother is her number one fan. Whenever I check the charts, I see how much she streams the songs. She truly wants to see her daughter succeed.”
The listening party attracted leading DJs, popular bloggers, and musicians who were eager to experience Boii’s new sound. One of the tracks, “Letter to My Boyfriend,” is already trending on TikTok after being uploaded as a sound on Boii’s page.
