Freetown, Sierra Leone – Sierra Leonean Cub journalist, photographer, and reality TV star ‘The Joy Gborie’ has embarked on an ambitious journey to break the Guinness World Record for the longest interviewing marathon, aiming for an astounding 168 hours of interviews.

The week-long event, currently underway at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown, will see Joy conduct interviews with 154 guests from various sectors of society. From media professionals and entrepreneurs to artists and hospitality experts, Gborie is showcasing the diverse talent and rich stories of Sierra Leoneans on a global platform.

“This is a challenge for Sierra Leone, so let’s put all hands on deck,” she said, calling on the public for support throughout the marathon.

So far, Joy has spoken with individuals representing the media, entrepreneurship, entertainment, and hospitality industries, with many more guests lined up. Joy’s mission goes beyond breaking a world record, she wants to demonstrate the power, innovation, and potential of Sierra Leoneans to the international world.

The event is free and open to the public, and supporters are encouraged to visit the venue to witness the record attempt and show their encouragement.

If successful, Gborie’s marathon will mark a historic moment for Sierra Leone, following Mary Yongai’s record-breaking achievement of 111 makeovers in 24 hours in the Guinness World Records — further strengthening her ambition as a trailblazer in the country’s media landscape.
