The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has launched a manifesto titled “The Media We Want: A Manifesto for an Empowerment and Inclusive Media in Sierra Leone”.
The President of SLAJ, Ahmed Sahid Nasralla, stated that the manifesto aims to build on the progress made in the last five years and represents the collective vision of journalists for the future of media in the country. He thanked SLAJ members, affiliates, and partners for their contributions to the manifesto’s development, including the Media Reform Coordinating Group, Bournemouth University, and the Independent Media Commission. The manifesto can be found on page 8 of this edition. The development of the manifesto was funded by the European Union through International IDEA.
