A young and brilliant Sierra Leonean identified as Ibrahim Marvel Kamara, a final year student of the Institute of Public Administration and Management, is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to don his regalia as he nears the completion of his studies.
Having already earned his first degree, Kamara is looking forward to the experience of graduating from the University of Sierra Leone.
“Alhamdulilah,” said Kamara, using the Arabic term for praise. “Having a first degree, especially from the University of Sierra Leone is beautiful.”
Kamara, who is studying Applied Accounting, is looking forward to the future and the opportunities that a degree from a prestigious university will bring.
“I am excited to be graduating soon,” he said. “I know that a degree from the University of Sierra Leone will open many doors for me and give me the chance to make a difference in the world.”
Kamara is an excellent example of someone who is committed to his studies and is determined to make the most of his educational opportunities. He is a source of inspiration to many of his peers who aspire to make their own mark in the world.
Ibrahim Marvel Kamara is an inspirational figure who stands as a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and ambition. At just over 20 years old, this Freetown native has already accomplished more than most. Kamara took his WASSCE at the Peninsula Senior Secondary School and served as Head Boy, Vice President of the School News Journal, and Secretary General of the Nature Club. He is currently a final year student at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM-USL) studying Applied Accounting.
Kamara has been involved in various leadership roles for over a decade, starting with Transparent Union and later progressing to Sierra Leone Children’s Forum Network, where he served in various positions, including Public Relations Officer, General Secretary, and President in the Western Area Rural District. He has attended over 500 leadership and career development workshops and trainings.
Kamara is the Executive Director of Advocacy for Women and Youth Empowerment, a national youth-led organization that has been contributing to the development of Sierra Leone by assisting rural women to fight for their rights and entitlements. He is also the Chairman of the 30 Most Influential Women Awards Committee, the Head of Research and Strategic Development in the Western Area Rural District Student Union, and has facilitated over 50 virtual and actual trainings. He organized the first ever Western Area Rural District Girls Empowerment and Development Summit in 2018 and ran for Student Union President at IPAM.
Kamara is a shining example of how anyone can achieve their goals with the right attitude and perseverance. He is looking forward to the future, and knows that his hard work and dedication will help him achieve great things.
