Born and raised in Sierra Leone, Hussanatu Ourstar Bah is from one of the most populous ethnic communities in Africa. Hussanatu explained that as a young girl, she used to wear all sort of makeup brands, just to look extra beautiful. At school, at home, and even during small events, Hussanatu could go the extra mile to wear random make-ups, regardless of who watched, complimented or criticised her.

”Many a time, my  parents frowned at me, because I was gradually turning the house into a makeup shop, littering every corner with makeup containers. For me, it was fun but at the same time difficult for my parents. Sometimes, I would hide my makeup in the school bag and later during lunch-break, I would call my friends and do their makeup. It was great and I loved the experience,”  Hussanatu Ourstar Bah  tells Salone Messenger Media of her journey and passion for cosmetics.
