Omar Champion Cham’s journey to obtaining his Bachelor of Laws (Honors) degree from the University of Gambia was not an easy one. He faced numerous challenges, including the loss of his father just before he began his university studies, financial difficulties, and juggling family responsibilities while pursuing his academic dreams.

Despite all these obstacles, Omar never gave up. He persevered, attending classes even when he couldn’t pay on time, doing assignments while on the go, and missing classes to attend to family needs. Omar also continued to serve his community and country, dedicating his time and effort to organizations such as the TRRC, the NYP, the National Poetry Slam, and the Kids Podium.

Through his resilience and determination, Omar became a champion – not just in achieving his academic goals, but also in his commitment to serving others. He encourages young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to never give up on their education and to always strive to make a positive impact on their communities.

Omar’s story is a testament to the power of determination, resilience, and service. Despite facing tremendous challenges, he was able to overcome them and achieve his dreams. He is an inspiration to all those who face adversity and a shining example of what can be accomplished through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to serving others.
