Ashley Williams made history in 2019 by earning a Master’s degree in political management and a Juris Doctorate degree simultaneously from two different institutions. As an advisor and the Director of Special Projects to the U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues while in college, Williams faced a major obstacle: being rejected by schools during multiple admission cycles. However, after many rejections, she was finally accepted into the University of Pennsylvania’s JD program.
Williams was determined to be strategic in her approach and make her dream possible. She stopped her Master’s program for the first year to focus on law full-time, and then resumed the Master’s program while studying abroad in Tokyo. Through her dedication, Ashley was able to accomplish her goals and earn two degrees in the same year.
Ashley wants her story to be an example for others to dream big and not give up despite setbacks. She hopes her journey will encourage and inspire others to do the same.
