Women’s Forum Sierra Leone has today officially bid farewell to Dr. Setcheme Jeronime Mongbo at the UN Women Sierra Leone office, marking the end of her impactful leadership in the country.

In a statement shared by the organisation, the Forum praised Dr. Mongbo for her strong commitment to supporting women and girls across Sierra Leone. They said her leadership helped to transform their partnership from early promise into real results.

During her time in Sierra Leone, Dr. Mongbo worked closely with Women’s Forum Sierra Leone on key programmes. These include the POWER Salone project, the Customary Land Rights sensitisation campaign, and the ENPOWER Salone initiative. Through these efforts, many women and communities were reached with support and awareness.

The Forum also highlighted her role in supporting advocacy for the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Act. They noted her contribution to strengthening systems such as financial management, safeguarding, and survivor-centred response under the Spotlight Initiative 2.0 programme.

According to the statement, Dr. Mongbo treated Women’s Forum Sierra Leone as a true partner, building trust and encouraging collaboration among women-led organisations.

“As she moves on, we do not say goodbye. We say thank you,” the statement read. The Forum added that they remain committed to continuing the work she believed in.

Women’s Forum Sierra Leone said women in the country are stronger today because of her leadership and dedication. They wished her well in her next chapter, describing her as not just a partner, but a lasting friend.
