WAEC Responds to Allegations of Malpractice in 2024 WASSCE Grade Processing
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released a statement refuting a press release circulating on social media that alleges misconduct by its staff and examiners.
In its response, WAEC labeled the press release, dated October 9, 2024, as “false, baseless, and an attempt to incite public animosity against the Council, as well as to damage its reputation.”
The Council urged the public to dismiss these claims, emphasizing, “The circulating press release is untrue and should be disregarded by all.”
Additionally, WAEC called on those spreading such misinformation to stop their actions, warning of the repercussions associated with misleading the public.
“Individuals who routinely share such malicious press releases are advised to cease these activities,” the statement stated.
WAEC also encouraged journalists and the public to verify any information attributed to the Council before sharing it. “Members of the media and the general public are urged to fact-check any information purportedly from the Council prior to dissemination,” said A. P. Nyandemoh, Administrative Officer I, who signed the statement on behalf of the Acting Head of the National Office.
Reaffirming its commitment to integrity and excellence, WAEC assured stakeholders of its dedication to delivering reliable and high-quality services.
